Lyrics to "Thank You" written by Jay Aymar We can't thank you enough But if we could We'd get everyone together from the neighbourhood Form a big circle, hold you tight And lift you up and thank you for fighting the good fight Yes, we want to thank you Thank you Thank you for serving the call, yeah Thank you Yeah, we want to thank you Thank you for risking it all Yeah, 'cause today is a good day Just to be alive For love is the only way that we will survive We live to see the sunrise Hey Yeah, you got to suit up Head to the frontlines Carry the weight for the rest of us We're watching your soul shine We want to thank you Yeah, we want to thank you Thank you for serving the call Yeah, we want to thank you We just want to thank you Thank you for risking it all Yeah, 'cause today is a good day Just to be alive For love is the only way that we will survive We live to see another sunrise Sunrise Thank you Thank you Oh, thank you for risking it all Yeah, we want to thank you Thank you Thank you for serving us all For serving us all We want to thank you

about

It's simple. We want to say Thank You to all the essential workers.

The song was written by Canadian singer-songwriter Jay Aymar after a hard conversation with a health care working friend and is performed by Aymar's friends JD Edwards (The Small Glories) and Roxanne Potvin (both JUNO nominees).

An accompanying, heartwarming video features environmentalist David Suzuki, astronaut Chris Hadfield and Paralympian Rick Hansen, among many other thankful Canadians. It highlights our collective appreciation for the unrelenting care that essential workers provide now and during the waves of the pandemic.

"It was obvious to me that my friend had hit her emotional limit," says Jay Ayamr. "From watching patients die without the presence of family members to the lack of adequate protective gear. I wrote this song to ease her pain. It was quickly evident to both of us that the song was universal and was a Thank You to all who stepped up."
